Santander shows support for JSAC
Orchid are very pleased to be working with Santander Private Banking, and to announce their new three year sponsorship deal with Jersey Spartan Athletics Club. This support will significally raise the bar for the Islands athletics facilities, and as the interest and popularity in athletics is growing in Jersey, this help could not have come at a better time.
Athletics Development Officer Andrew Winnie says: “This sponsorship comes at a fitting stage for the club, with many young athletes now committed to training for both national and international competitions. Many of our athletes have their eyes set on future Commonwealth and Olympic Games and we are dedicated to supporting these athletes, through provision and facility of the highest standard of training available. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Santander Private Banking, the standard of Jersey athletics can only get better and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing support.”.
Santander hope that by sponsoring the development of the Club over a three year period, it will help the young athletes of tomorrow develop into world class ambassadors for the Island and the community as a whole.

Joining the 100 local youngsters were 3 schoolboys from France, who had travelled to Jersey from Manche and Normandy with their coach for the weeks event. Kevin Lemasney, Jersey RFC academy chairman, explained "Jersey and Manche have a special relationship across all aspects of education, sport and culture. During a meeting at Durrell it was suggested that an exchange could be set up through the rugby and we thought that the Ashburton rugby camp would be an ideal platform."
