Spooky Nights!
It's that time of year when things go bump in the night. We've raided the Pound Magic Halloween den of goodies and are getting ready for a fantastic night of 'ooohs' and 'aaahs' at Mont Orgueil Castle on 29th October. If last year is anything to go by, the 600 members and friends of Jersey Heritage will enjoy a feast of all things ghoulish and ghastly. And if you're not a member, then sign up and make sure you don't miss out on these fantastic exclusive members-only events. Waaahaaaahaaaahaaaa! Check out www.jerseyheritage.org for more info.

The Amazon Kindle
Been a little while since we added an Orchid loves. The day job kind of took over for a while back there but here's our latest 'like'....
We love newspapers, magazines and books but we are really rather smitten by the Amazon Kindle. Never thought we'd say it but it is beautifully light, easy to use and so darned easy to download the latest read. And the gorge new covers with in-built lights make it a bit too tempting to stay up reading into the night without being nagged to switch the light off!
CH103fm Big Gig
We had a fantastic time at the first ever Channel 103fm Big Gig in the Park. Performers included pop sensation Will Young, Queen of soul Beverly Knight and local girl band Honeybun (with our very own Zara Blake). The weather was glorious and the entertainment spot on. We were up and enjoying the great music all night long!
The big gig, supported by primary sponsors Airtel-Vodafone, brought not only excellent entertainment for the whole family to the Island but generated valuable funds for local charity ‘Help a Jersey Child’. A great night which we are proud to have been able to support.
Ciara Ahern
Ciara was at the JVA Beach Volleyball tournament last week and we took the opportunity to have our backs and shoulders treated (hard core players that we are!). She was brilliant. Giving her time free at the event, we wanted to say thanks for the 'seeing to' and to promote her services on Orchid loves.
As massage therapist to the Jersey 1st Rugby Team she obviously knows her stuff, focusing on sports and remedial massage.
For those not in the know, remedial means: intended to correct a deficiency or fault; acting as remedy or solution to a problem and intended to improve health. Well we could all do with a bit of that!
Ciara is now running morning treatment sessions at both the Island Medical Centre and Cleveland Clinic and is offering 20% discount on all first consultation at both clinics in July. What would normally cost £40 for an hour will only be £32 for the same in-depth treatment. We would seriously recommend you take advantage of this offer - we're going to.

Kandid Prints
We think the lovely peeps at Kandid Prints deserve to be on Orchid loves this month. They are damned good at what they do and are super helpful too. They have just invested in lots of fantastic high tec equipment that downloads amazing pics at the touch of a button. You should consider them for any event or activity you are planning that deserves to be captured on film. To find out more visit their website www.kandidprints.com.
Spotify
The Spotify website says it far more clearly than we can - we are loving it so much we are likely to gush and not make much sense...
Any track you like, any time you like. Just search for it in Spotify, then play it. Any artist, any album, any genre - all available instantly. With Spotify, there are no limits to the amount of music you could listen to. Just help yourself to whatever you want, whenever you want it.
We're tucking in and creating playlists for our new office. Bit of Sade, Peter Gabriel, Morcheeba, Hotel Costes or Paul Weller anyone?
Suma's Big Breakfasts
It's just as well we have football and rugby training for our offspring on Saturday and Sunday mornings or we'd be camped out at Suma's in Gorey every weekend! The renowned Suma's Big Breakfast has now been extended to Sunday as well as Saturday mornings and really should be squeezed into your schedule.
Tuck into every type of breakfast you can think of - from the Suma's Mega Breakfast to the American, Eggs Benedict to Omellette. Every breakfast comes with lashings of fresh tea or cafetiere coffee, toast, croissant, homemade preserves and butter. And the eggs are free range too!
We strongly urge you to treat your tummy this weekend and book a table at Suma's. Give them a call on 853291 or visit their website www.sumasrestaurant.com for more info and full menus.
