Suma's Big Breakfasts
It's just as well we have football and rugby training for our offspring on Saturday and Sunday mornings or we'd be camped out at Suma's in Gorey every weekend! Gambling!
Huge thanks to the lovely Investec peeps for hosting a superb gambling night for their clients and associates. We are working closely with Investec in their capacity as headline sponsors for Le Tournoi. Sam is proud to be a founding Committee member and we are delighted to provide gratis PR and marketing support to the charity. On the night, Sam picked up a magnum of champagne for being the best loser. Yes, she grew her chips from £10 to £80 then lost the lot on the final spin of the dice! It was a great night and the team from Black Cat Fun Casino (www.blackcatfuncasino.com) were brilliant. We'll definitely consider them for client events next year. Cheers guys and Happy Christmas!
Pure Charity Coffee Shop
We've just discovered the Pure Charity coffee shop in the market. All profits go to charity (yes, ALL). This year, 80% goes to Jersey Hospice Care and the remaining 20% to Ecce Homo Trust which is a Romanian charity working with families, in children's homes, a social centre for homeless children and through a farm project.
They serve sandwiches, paninis, soups, jacket potatoes and fresh drinks. All made on site daily. On top of all that, we think they have arguably the best cupcakes on the island. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or a swift cuppa as you're passing through.
What we really love is that they genuinely care about their customers. Elderly regulars are asked to advise the team when they are going on holiday so if they aren't around, the staff don't worry. You don't experience that level of service and care very often so we wanted to share our find with you.

Beach Cricket
Despite being pretty appalling at the actual playing part, Iselin and Sam loved being part of the Rathbones beach cricket team. Playing at St Brelade's Bay outside the Oyster Box restaurant, on a gorgeous summer's evening - yes, the only one we appear to be having this year - we tried to bat and attempted to field. We now know Iselin runs like a pony, trotting elegently across the sand, and Sam cannot bat to save her life!
